Setting Up Your Email Address using an Android Smartphone

The instructions below are just guidelines and may vary slightly from one device to another.
Firstly go to the Applications menu.

Choose the Email icon.

Enter your Email address e.g. jsmith@coolexample.com

Enter your Password. Your email account password.

Press Next

Choose what type of email account it is (usually POP3):

POP3, IMAP or Exchange account.

More settings will appear. Some will already be filled in.

Enter the Username e.g. the part before the @ symbol

Enter the Password

Enter the Server Address. e.g. For POP this is mail.coolexample.com, for IMAP this is imap.coolexample.com

Press Next.

Enter the SMTP server and Port. e.g. smtp.coolexample.com, Port: 587

Tick the Require sign-in box

The Username and Password should already be filled in, if not enter the username and password for the email address you’re setting up

Press Next when you’re done.

Choose how often the emails are checked.

Choose whether the phone will notify you when new emails are received.

If you’re not sure about these settings, it’s safe to leave them as they are.

Press Next.

Give the Account a Name. e.g. Work, You can put whatever you want here.

Enter the Name you want people to see when receiving your messages. e.g John Smith

Press Next

Your email account can now be accessed from your smartphone and you can begin reading your emails.
